Morning Playtime

(15 mins)

YR and KS1 - 10.25am - 10.40am

KS2 - 10.30am - 10.45am

YR and Y1 benefit from access to their own outdoor area and due to the structure of continuous provision, they do not have a set morning break.

*During the spring and summer terms of Y1, children will transition to more table-based learning and at this point join Y2 on the lower playground for 'break time'.

Y2 and Y3 enjoy using the lower playground together.

*During the spring and summer terms, Y3 will spend some time on the upper playground. Y3 are permitted to use the field with KS2, weather permitting.

Y4, Y5 and Y6 enjoy using the upper playground and school field together.

All KS2 classes take turns to use the adventure playground.

Lunch time

(1 hour)

12.00pm - 1.00pm

All classes have an allocated Lunch Time Supervisor.  Lunch Time Supervisors cares for their allocated class when they are playing together on the playground, brings them into the lunch hall and is their key adult during this time of the day. Lunchtime supervisors are based on the playground.

Whilst children are eating in the hall they are cared for by an additional lunchtime supervisor and the After-School Club manager, Miss Smart.

Senior leaders are present both inside and outside during lunchtime.

Children have the opportunity to attend a range of lunchtime clubs, led by TAs and Y6 children- these range from Lego club to art and drama.

We promote an active lunchtime, an external sports coach leads playground activities for KS1 on Tuesdays and Thursday, and KS2 on Mondays and Wednesdays.

End of the day - 3.30pm

The School Road gate opens at 3.25pm for parents and carers.

Class teachers dismiss their class.

  • YR and Y1 - Children leave through their classroom doors from the YR courtyard. (Classroom doors will open at 3.25pm - there is a fluid end to the school day.)
